The shashka is a historical design with an open hilt, no guard and a distinctive blade curvature. It became popular when Cossacks were a formidable striking force in armies, cutting down whatever stood in their path as they rode on horseback. Today, shashkas can be seen worn at the waist at many parades of different branches of the armed forces. The earliest shashkas are dated to the 12th–13th centuries; the weapon later became a characteristic attribute of the mounted warrior.

The shashka differs from a classical saber in its open hilt, blade curvature, tip shape and balance. Its historical forms and use were closely associated with mounted warriors, and its scabbard was carried on a waist or shoulder belt.

The Cossack Shashka is available to buy or order with the following options:

The shashka fittings are cast in non-ferrous or precious metals such as brass, bronze, cupronickel, silver and others.

Different blade shapes are available, including designs based on your own sketches and drawings. Please specify these when ordering in the Order notes.

Inscriptions and designs can be applied to the surface of the blade by electrochemical etching, at the customer’s request.

Shashkas are made with blades of AISI 304 stainless steel or 40Kh13 high-carbon stainless steel.

Blade thickness: 5 mm.

The scabbard and hilt are made from natural wood: linden, ash or oak. The hilt can also be made from cast polyurethane.

The scabbard and hilt are covered in genuine leather. The sword knot and straps are also made from genuine leather.

Each saber is supplied with an expert report covering either a product of the same type or the specific item, stating that it is not a cold weapon. PLEASE NOTE: if you need to take the product across a national border, please indicate this when placing your order in the Order notes, so that we can provide the original expert report, an invoice and a delivery note for the products to avoid problems when crossing the border. In this case, however, receipt of the product may take an additional 1–2 weeks.

Each order is made individually and takes 2–3 weeks to produce, with a 50% advance payment for materials. Once your order is confirmed on the website, you will receive an email with your order confirmation and order number. Please quote your order number when making payment.

Нарешті мою красуня дома!
Добрий день! Хочу подякувати колектив майстерні за професіоналізм, витримку та розуміння! Хочу сказати , що майстри втілили всі мої побажання , до найменших дрібничок. Отримав дуже якісну річ, в терміни які були оговорені . Головне ,що все відповідає специфікації. Що замовив , то і отримав. В наші не легкі часи , це рідкість. Дуже зручна доставка та упаковка. Дуже приємно було мати контакт з майстром на всіх етапах виготовлення. Всім рекомендую майстерню !!!!.
