The pernach is a historical design with a distinctive flanged head. It is a type of mace with several metal plates, or flanges, cast onto the head. A one-handed version with six flanges, known as a shestoper, became particularly widespread.
The development of plate armor influenced medieval mace designs. From the 14th century, flanged forms became part of this historical development, alongside traditional round-headed maces.
The pernach, also known as a pirnach or shestoper, is a historical emblem that symbolised the authority of kurin otamans and Cossack colonels during the Cossack era. It was held by leaders whom the community had elected and recognised as strong, courageous and wise. Pernachs and shestopers remained widespread among Cossacks until almost the end of the 16th century. We offer a souvenir model of this historical emblem.

The Pernach is made entirely from stainless steel.
Designs are applied to the metal surface by electrochemical etching.
The stand is made from natural oak wood.
Each Pernach is supplied with an expert report covering either a product of the same type or the specific item, stating that it is not a cold weapon. PLEASE NOTE: if you need to take the product across a national border, please indicate this when placing your order in the Order notes, so that we can provide the original expert report, an invoice and a delivery note for the products to avoid problems when crossing the border. In this case, however, receipt of the product may take an additional 1–2 weeks.
